Ashley + Alister | Destination Wedding Photographer

A couple weeks ago I traveled to South Carolina to photograph my dear friend Ashley marry her soulmate Alister. Ashley and I met about a year ago and lets just say our friendship has been inseparable! We have shared plenty of late night conversations, traveled to California together, and lots of tears and laughter with each other. She is one of the sweetest red heads I know!Over this last year I have also grown to know and love Ashley’s amazing family. Ashley and her sister, Shelby are extremely close. They are best friends to the core! So once Ashley began the getting ready process the tears starting rolling and really never stopped through the day from any of us! Shelby gave Ashley their grandma’s ring that they played with as young children. Not only was the ring stunning it was such a symbolic moment for them.The couple then headed outside to do their first look. It was such a kind loving moment they shared with one another. The tears from Alister started rushing as he saw his bride looking radiant. Ashley also shared a first look with the Dad. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves for that moment!Their ceremony was one of the most detailed, loving, yet hilarious ceremonies I have had the honor of witnessing! The couples mutual teacher friend was the honorary officiant and shared so many reasons that Ashley and Alister were FINALLY getting married! After sharing life together for many many years with their passion of teaching and their love of soccer they were introduced as husband and wife!One of the best moments of the day was when Ashley’s Dad gave his speech at the reception. Being from Ohio, Ashley is obviously an Ohio State fan! Alister is a Georgia fan. As a gift Ashley’s Dad gave Alister an Ohio State hat for a wedding gift! He even gave it his all during Hang on Sloppy! He’s definitely a keeper!We were able to sneak in some gorgeous sunset photos before the DJ carried the fun filled evening away. I was so happy to be a part of Ashley and Alister’s beautiful day! It was a true honor.
